Miasteczko Roswell w Nowym Meksyku jest sławne z powodu katastrofy UFO, do której rzekomo doszło tam w 1947 roku. Również tam mieszka dwoje nastolatków: Liz Parker i Max Evans, którzy przypadkowo zbliżają się do siebie, kiedy Max ratuje Liz życie. Max, jego siostra Isabel i najlepszy przyjaciel, Michael ukrywają przed światem niewyobrażalną tajemnicę. Po katastrofie statku kosmicznego przebywali w jego wnętrzu w czymś w rodzaju kapsuł inkubacyjnych, z których wyszli jako ludzie i wiodą życie współczesnych nastolatków. Ze wszystkich sił i wszelkimi sposobami starają się zachować to w tajemnicy zarówno przed przybranymi rodzicami, jak i przed szeryfem Valenti, który za wszelką cenę chce odkryć prawdę dotyczącą katastrofy sprzed półwiecza. Serial liczy 61 odcinków.
